I am currently an art student at St. Olaf College. Working primarily in clay, I work to combine functional ceramic vessels with 2D elements. My carved images and designs draw from my childhood growing up in the Boundary Waters wilderness in northern Minnesota as well as the remote lutheran retreat center, Holden Village, located in the cascade mountains of Washington. I aim to create pots that invoke memories when used, or invite a conversation and thus create memories and relationships. I am dedicated to the beauty of functional art, believing that the day to day relationship humans have with the dishes they use
